I was in a big lunch gathering sometime last week (so big the restaurant's ushers they were being invaded by another restaurant's army), when an acquaintance (from the casino), threw a question at me. "How come you never write anything
about roulette dealers in your blog?"
I answered, "Actually, I may have, once or twice"."No, you haven't, why don't you go check all of them since Day 1?" The table erupted in laughter, and I took it good-naturedly.
Now, here is the thing, either I do any of two things- follow his suggestion, or just write (another) piece about his suggested theme. I think that practicality dictates that I do the latter, so here it is. Hey Morgan (that's the name), this one is for you, but remember, we have
a standing bet, ok? (I'll explain that maybe, another time).
What are the prerequisites for one to be accepted as a roulette dealer? One, a deep comprehension of the game. Two, good communication skills, that includes the ability to bear insults without any form of retaliation. A good math ability is also mandated, and I am not saying one should be able to do calculus in his head, just somebody who could add and subtract mentally in mere seconds, that would be what I have in mind.
One last thing, if you are intent on being one, realize this- you would be paid on an hourly basis, but of course, there are exceptions.
OH WELL, that is the way it is.
